Mayor Gregor Robertson joined VANOC CEO John Furlong, Minister of State for the Olympics Mary McNeil, and Tourism Vancouver CEO Rick Antonson at Robson Square today, to take part in a pep rally with hundreds of Vancouver hospitality workers to mark the one-week countdown to the 2010 Olympics.

"In one week, 3 billion people will be tuned in to Vancouver, watching our every move," said Mayor Robertson.  "This is our chance to make our mark in the world, and to let people know how great our city is. We've got not just a great city, but a great province and country, and we have so much to be proud of. You've all worked so hard to get to this point, and I know all of you will be amazing hosts when over 250,000 people come through our city in the coming days."

The opening ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics start the evening of Friday, February 12.
