And I intend to work my hardest over the next four years to demonstrate that we've heard that call.”

Today’s inaugural address outlined an agenda for action to build on Vancouver’s achievements and progress over the last six years. The Mayor focused on priorities such as building the Broadway Subway, building new affordable housing and ending street homelessness, growing our innovative economy, expanding Vancouver’s greenest city leadership, and better engaging all of Vancouver in rising to our biggest challenges and opportunities.

“We've come a long way in six years,” said the Mayor. “We've taken on the responsibility of leadership, and we're showing the world how a city can be both prosperous and livable. How we can be sustainable and vibrant. How we can be innovative and just … We will face the opportunities and challenges of the next four years with our eyes to the world and a confidence that does this city proud.”
